Great news! Our events calendar is in place, and we have a stirring workshop series planned for the whole remainder of the term! This series will cover all the basics of bicycle maintenance, with such topics as brakes and gears, flat tires and the drive-train. Then, at the end, there's a catch-all workshop for Tips and Tricks, like getting things un-stuck, and a volunteer orientation for those people who are interested in putting their new-found skills to good use and giving back to the community.
These workshops are geared towards a hands-on audience who are interested in learning practical skills for fixing their own or other people's bicycles. Everyone will get one-on-one instruction and will get a chance to complete a maintenance task all on their own. The instruction proper will take place from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, but if participants choose to stay longer to get more practice, the shop is open for another two hours until 9:00pm. A total of 4 hours of learning!
Attending all workshops in the series is not mandatory, but RSVPing would be veruy useful to us for planning purposes. A bicycle is also not mandatory as there are plenty of example pieces here to practice on. As usual, the workshops are FREE. No barriers! Knowledge is power! I hope to see you out!
