Check out the Events page to mark all of our great activies down on your calendars. We're happy to annouce the first ever Tweed Ride Thunder Bay on September 27th. There will be a costume ride close to Halloween, and then in Novmeber.. or should I say MOvemeber, there's the first ever Moustache Ride! We'll be taking part in the Santa Clause parade, hopefully, and mixed in between all of these will be Critical Manners group rides.
Community Spokes projects are on the go: we're hoping to get eaves troughs installed on the building so that we can collect rain water and use it in the shop. We're also going to offer up a contract to the visual arts department so that we can get the building repainted. Hopefully there will be some changes inside the storage facility to enable us to use it better, as well.
We're going to have more hours this year as a Volunteer day is set up, just for volunteers to come and work on their own bikes, organize, clean and do maintenane on our fleet of bicycles. A Ladies and Queers night will happen as soon as a volunteer steps forward to host. I would if I could. And we're setting up some community outreach programs for various agencies around the city so they can have some dedicated time in the shop for their purposes. It's going to be amazing!
Further more, a "company bike" is being worked up, which will be used for PR, advertising and specific outings that Community Spokes goes on. It may turn into an ambulatory cycle when we have to transport all of our tools to a workshop, or rescue someone from flat-tire-osis.
This and more coming ahead! See you when the school year starts!
